Installations Partially Deleted By Anti-Spyware Software

Sometimes anti-spyware products will identify our products as spyware and delete them.  Unfortunately, some of these products do not ask before they delete and others do not completely remove the software, leaving it partially installed.  A partial installation of our keylogger products can interfere with subsequent installations to the point where they do not work properly.  If your anti-spyware package has deleted your copy of one of our products, configure that package to allow our products to function and take the following steps before re-installing.

How to Uninstall our Keylogger Software

Please try the following measures:

1)If you can find the directory the product was installed into, locate the file named uninstxxx.exe (where xxx is a random number) and double-click.  This should launch the un-installer and remove the product.  By default, our products are installed at a location like the following: c:\program files\PCS-XXX\ where XXX is a random number.
2)If you cannot locate the uninstaller you will have to uninstall manually.  Take the following steps:
  • Open the Windows Task Manager.  Usually you can do this by pressing CTRL-ALT-DELETE.  If Tsak Manager does not appear automatically you can usually open it by clicking or selecting "Task Manager".  Go to the processes tab.  Click on the "Image Name" column header to sort alphabetically.  Locate the processes named pclnXXX.exe and pcmnXXX.exe.  Select each process and click the "End Process" button.
  •  Download Autoruns from Mircrosoft from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx.  Autoruns shows you every application that launches automatically when your computer starts - as our keyloggers do.  Once you download and install Autoruns double click on autoruns.exe.  Autoruns will open and you will see a number of tabs. For Busted and RedHanded: Go to the  Services tab and locate the service named "SnLtXXX" or "RdLstXXX".  Make note of the file the service points to.  Highlight the process and delete it.  Next go to the "Logon" tab of Autoruns.  Locate the entry named "pcmnXXX".  Make note of the file it points to.  Highlight the entry and delete it.  Now find the files you made note of and delete them.  Usually it is a good idea to delete everything else in the folder you find these files in, but if our software has been incorporated into some sort of virus or spyware you will have to use your judgment when deleting other files.
  • Open the Windows Registry.  This can usually be done by pressing the Windows button, selecting Run, then entering "regedit".  Be very careful when using the Windows Registry - if you delete or alter anything other than what is described below other programs or the computer itself may not function properly.  Locate the key "My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PCS-XXX" and delete it.  Next find the key "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PCS-XXX" and delete that.

3)That should be it.  To check, restart your computer and follow the first step above (Task Manager) to make sure the process are not still running.  If you want to re-install our software you may do so at this time.
Note on Re-Installing our Keylogger Software

If you find you want to re-install our software for any reason, be sure to uninstall following the steps above and then restart your computer before installing again.
